Balboa Park in San Diego California is one of the coolest places to visit for art, history, and music. This summer, The Museum of Photographic Arts is featuring the photo exhibit “Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash”.
It will feature a collection of classic rock and roll photographers such as Lynn Goldsmith, Annie Leibovitz, Henry Diltz, and the recently deceased Jim Marshall. If you’ve seen any b&w photos of Hendrix, The Beatles, Morrison, Iggy Pop, Joplin, and Cash just to name a few, chances are it was taken by one of these legendary photographers.
I’m hoping to definitely make a trip down south and check out all the events happening at Balboa Park. Don’t forget, the San Diego Zoo, and numerous museums are all near by. Check out all the info at http://www.balboapark.org/ for event schedules, parking info, and money saving deals for an artistic entertaining weekend.
